US Pipelining Completes Cured-In-Place Pipe Lining Restoration of Historical Landmark Americus Hotel
Historic Hotel Americus Undergoes Several Years Long Restoration to Become the First Trademark Hotel in Pennsylvania Philadelphia, PA April, 2021 – US Pipelining, LLC., an emerging leader in Cured-In-Place-Pipelining (CIPP), and trenchless lining solutions announced today the completion of a landmark project which included cured-in-place pipe lining rehabilitation at the historic Hotel Americus located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Erected on the site of the city’s first hotel/tavern known as the Northampton ca; 1810, the new and renamed Americus opened in 1927 attracting US Presidents, dignitaries, and visitors from across the country.
The cured-in-place pipelining rehabilitation involving the Americus plumbing infrastructure was part of a top-down restoration of the landmark hotel expected to open in the summer of this year as part of the Wyndham Hotel Group’s Trademark Collection, the first in Pennsylvania.
“Ours was part of a complete and total top-down restoration of the historical property”, states Jeremy Bowman, President, US Pipelining. “Our component included the cured-in-place pipe lining and restoration of the plumbing and sanitary system servicing the Americas. Replacing the piping, due to the elaborate wood workings, murals and plaster wall and ceilings, would have been extremely expensive and invasive. We have successfully completed many such projects including federal landmarks, museums and libraries who often times opt for a less costly and non-invasive restoration method such as cured-in-place pipe, which allows for restoration while leaving the floors, walls and ceilings untouched and intact”, said Bowman.
A leader in Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP), epoxy coatings, and multiple trenchless lining solutions technologies for industrial, commercial and municipal applications, US Pipelining’s military and government portfolio includes projects for The Smithsonian, Rockefeller Museum, Fort Knox, NASA, McGuire AFB, Lakehurst Naval Air Station, National Park Services, and the Naval Air Station Patuxent River.
“Cured-In-Place pipe lining has become a widely used and accepted technology globally as a low-cost, non-invasive alternative to traditional dig and replace methods, “said Bowman. “Industry can either close down operations, interrupt traffic flow, excavate or open walls and ceilings to replace failing infrastructure, or, option a non-invasive rehabilitation process which rehabilitates the failed pipe from the inside out without the need for opening walls or excavation. Companies and municipalities worldwide are now opting for a faster, more cost-effective means of rehabilitation. US Pipelining offers a wide array of trenchless, noninvasive pipelining solutions.”
Since entering the pipe rehabilitation industry 25 years ago, US Pipelining has gained recognition for their ability to offer highly specialized rehabilitation solutions to a vast array of clients including global fortune 500 companies, high-rise residential and commercial buildings and government agencies. “US Pipelining is one of a handful of companies globally who provide CIPP and other noninvasive restoration technologies for pipes ranging in diameter from 4 inches to 120 inches,” states Bowman. “There are very few conditions we have not seen or reconciled.”
About Cured-In-Place technology: Cured-In-Place Pipe technology (CIPP) is one of several “No-Dig” trenchless rehabilitation methods used to “noninvasively” repair existing pipelines. CIPP is a joint-less, seamless, pipe-within-a-pipe with the capability to structurally rehabilitate pipes ranging in diameter from 4″–120″. With a design life of 50 years CIPP is one of the most widely used rehabilitation methods and has application in water, sewer, gas, and chemical pipelines.
